India’s historic initiative for Asia Cup, BCCI President Roger Binny and Rajeev Shukla will go to Pakistan


There has been a big development regarding the Asia Cup to be held on the soil of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Board of Control for Cricket in India President Roger Binny and Vice President Rajeev Shukla will visit Pakistan. Roger Binny and Rajeev Shukla will be part of the Asia Cup match to be held in Lahore on September 4. This initiative can also be seen as an initiative to improve the relations related to cricket between India and Pakistan. The Asia Cup is going to be held from August 30 and the first match of the tournament will be played in Pakistan.

This time Pakistan had the right to host the Asia Cup. But India refused to send a team to Pakistan citing security reasons. After much controversy, it was decided to organize the tournament in Sri Lanka along with Pakistan. 5 matches of Asia Cup are to be played in Pakistan and 9 in Sri Lanka. The Indian team will play all its matches in Sri Lanka only. The final match of the tournament will also be played in Pakistan.

Why BCCI President’s visit to Pakistan is a big gesture?

This initiative of BCCI can be seen as an improvement in cricket relations between India and Pakistan. ICC Champions is to be organized in Pakistan in 2025. After this initiative of BCCI, it can be believed that the Indian team will go to Pakistan to be a part of this tournament.
